Community Benefit Connect recently conducted a national job analysis to determine the content domains, knowledge and tasks statements that define the community benefit role. A job analysis is an empirically-based study, which draws on the guidance of subject matter experts to identify the skills necessary for competent performance in a job role or occupation. During this webinar, we will present the overall findings from the job analysis study. Based on the job analysis, Community Benefit Connect developed a Model Job Description for Community Benefit Professionals. This job description can be used for hiring, training and evaluation of community benefit staff. It is also a useful tool to inform hospital leadership and Boards, Community Benefit Committees and health care consumers about the role of the community benefit professional. Join us on this webinar to view and discuss the Model Job Description.

Hospitals are routinely called on to financially support community organizations, programs and activities that benefit the community and tie into services provided by the hospital. Typically, hospitals receive requests for funds far in excess of the available resources. It is essential, therefore, to have a process that helps in decision making for distribution of donations and sponsorships. And once funds have been given, it is important to track the use of the funds and the impact of the contribution. Join Coletta Barrett as she outlines the guidelines for community donations and sponsorships to qualify for community benefit. This webinar will share the process and tools used by Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center to manage the community donations and sponsorships program.

Measuring Impact Training Slides

Evaluating the impact of community benefit programs is a required component of community benefit assessment. Sometimes we struggle to move beyond simply counting lives touched. If you don’t know where to start, we can help. Community Benefit Connect has training slides available on measuring impact. This tool presents a useful framework to develop measurement processes. It can also be used to train staff on the importance of program evaluation. You may adapt the slides to fit your facility’s needs.
