340b Drug Pricing
Community Benefit Strategic Plans

Community Benefit Connect is looking for information, examples and resources on 340b drug pricing programs and community benefit strategic plans.

340b Drug Pricing Program
For 25 years, the 340B Drug Pricing Program has provided financial help to safety-net hospitals to manage rising prescription drug costs. Section 340B of the Public Health Service Act requires pharmaceutical manufacturers participating in Medicaid to sell outpatient drugs at discounted prices to health care organizations that care for many uninsured and low-income patients.

If your hospital receives 340b drug pricing, is the program connected with community benefit to provide funding for services offered in the community? If your hospital community benefit is working with the 340b drug pricing program, please email Melissa Biel at mbiel@communitybenefitconnect.org. We would like to hear what your hospital is doing.

Community Benefit Strategic Plan
Does your hospital/health system have a community benefit strategic plan? We are looking for community benefit plans we can share. We are defining a community benefit strategic plan as a document that identifies overall community benefit goals, objectives and measures.
This is not an Implementation Strategy but the Implementation Strategy may have incorporated some components of the community benefit plan. If you have a community benefit strategic plan you are willing to share, please send it to Melissa Biel at mbiel@communitybenefitconnect.org.
